Watching in 4K/UHD

How can I watch in 4K/UHD?

Some Freely TVs support 4K Ultra HD. At the moment, BBC iPlayer and YouTube are the two main sources of free UHD content that you can stream to your 4K UHD TV.

You'll need a fairly fast internet connection to get the best out of it – we recommend a minimum 40Mbps download speed.

As demand grows and internet speeds improve, we expect to see more free 4K content become available.

And what exactly is 4K UHD?

4K UHD TVs have a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, which is the same as four Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) screens put together. More resolution means more detail, making the picture sharper and clearer.

TVs with 4K capability may also have a technology called high dynamic range (HDR), which displays a wider range of colours to make your TV picture even more realistic. It also improves how your TV handles contrast, making the picture brighter and more dynamic.
